Why is it that some people have a 6 pack and some people have an 8 pack?

I was wondering if it was a biological difference,or due to exercise,that some people have an 8 pack compared to the more conventional 6 pack.

Also,my abs are too used to crunches,reverse crunches,and many other conventional abdominal exercises,and thus I find very little current progress and my ab workouts are not challenging anymore.Does anyone have effective yet unconventional abdominal exercises so I can put my body through new challenges and see further improvement?Much appreciated.
Problem is Kyle,I’ve done a lot of different abdominal exercises,my stomach no longer feels the challenge from any of them.I’ve ran out of ab exercises to challenge myself with.
